Expansion update (7/29/14)

Did you hear?

Walk-In is formally partnering with Neighborhood House in St. Paul!

This will be our third partner site, and we will be expanding our free counseling services beginning October 2!

Neighborhood House was started in 1897 by the women of Mount Zion Temple in an effort to assist Russian Jewish immigrants fleeing their homeland as a result of mounting bigotry and discrimination. Over 110 years later, it is a vibrant, thriving organization serving immigrants, refugees and low-income people who are seeking a better life for themselves and their families.  Neighborhood House operates diverse programs that work together to stabilize lives through basic needs, health and youth services, and lifelong education.

Walk-In’s free mental health counseling services are a perfect addition to their programs, and this partnership provides a unique opportunity for Walk-In’s volunteers to serve clients of even more culturally diverse backgrounds than they do now.

We will continue to provide services at our existing St. Paul partner sites (Family Tree Clinic and Love Grows Here Wellness Center) as we’ve done since 2010.

Neighborhood House, located at 179 Robie St. E., will increase our east metro services, allowing us to serve an estimated 200 additional people!  We will begin by offering walk-in clinic hours on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, but the space is available to add hours and days, so we hope to do even more in the future.
