Mental Health Licensing Diversity Award: Applications are due Feb. 16

Walk-In Counseling Center recognizes the value of growing and supporting a diverse group of licensed mental health professionals to fill unmet community needs and improve the delivery of mental health services.

In an effort to support diversity within the metropolitan Twin Cities mental  health practitioner community, Walk-In opened applications late last year for the 2024 Walk-In Counseling Center Licensing Diversity Award, with an emphasis on supporting early career professionals. Walk-In will select up to four license-eligible candidates to receive up to $2,500 to fund the following: licensing preparation materials; licensing preparation workshops; licensing test fees; licensing fees; and supervision towards licensure. Recipients will be expected to volunteer at Walk-In during or after their licensure.

Elegibilidad:

Pueden postularse todos los graduados y futuros graduados de maestrías en trabajo social, consejería, psicología o terapia familiar, con antecedentes diversos. Los solicitantes seleccionados deberán demostrar necesidad económica y compromiso con la prestación de terapia adaptada a la diversidad.

  • A cover letter that includes a personal statement addressing: What has influenced you to focus on issues of mental health and economic disparities; The ways in which you have sought to train in and practice diversity-informed therapy; and Why you would be interested in volunteering at Walk-In Counseling Center.

  • A transcript of your graduate work (can be an unofficial personal  copy).
