Our new executive director, Kate Fischer

Kate Fischer, LICSW, became Walk-In’s executive director in August 2025. Kate is a social worker with years of experience as a counselor and volunteer at Walk-In. Grounded in a vision for justice and an understanding of policy, Kate has worked to implement and scale models for integrated care. Kate has focused her career on alleviating harm while (re)designing the systems that influence us – in families, organizations, and government. Through a model of partnership, Kate has worked in Washington DC, Chicago, and the Twin Cities, shaping individual and organizational practice towards healing and equity.
