The first recipients of Walk-In’s diversity award have been selected! They are Crystal Audi and Yen Tran, who are completing student field placements at Kente Circle, and Harrison Pack, who is completing his student field placement at NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center.
In an effort to support diversity within the metropolitan Twin Cities mental health provider community, Walk-In created the 2022 Walk-In Counseling Center Diversity Award, with an emphasis on supporting early career professionals.
The award was open to master and doctor-level graduates of diverse backgrounds in social work, psychology and marriage & family therapy programs. Applicants were asked to demonstrate financial need as well as a commitment to providing diversity-informed therapy. The diversity award recipients will receive up to $2,500 to fund licensing exam preparation materials and workshops; licensing test fees; licensing fees; and supervision towards licensure. They are also expected to volunteer at Walk-In.
