Our Staff

Gary Schoener

Director of Consultation & Training

Gary is one of the founders of Walk-In, and served as executive director from 1973 to 2010. A licensed psychologist, Gary is well known for his expertise on professional misconduct, and is an internationally known expert on ethics and professional boundaries. He is regularly called on as an advisor, speaker and trainer.  Gary directs Walk-In’s Consultation & Training Institute, and maintains a private practice in forensic psychology.

Pang Chang

Director of Volunteers

Pang joined Walk-In Counseling Center in 2006. She earned her BSW from the College of St. Catherine. Pang is often one of the first people a new volunteer meets.  As Volunteer Director, she is responsible for orientation, scheduling and much of the support of volunteers.  She is also involved with the day-to-day operations of Walk-In Counseling Center, and is the technical genius that oversees our client database.

Heather Martens

Director of Development

Heather joined Walk-In Counseling Center in 2016. She is in charge of donor relations. Heather has served in executive, fundraising, communications and board roles at non-profits for two decades. She has an M.Ed. from Rutgers and a B.A. from Cornell University.

Jane Ginsberg

Clinic Director

Jane joined Walk-In after eight years as Vice President of Behavioral Health at Family Partnership and a long career as Executive Director of a program for people with seriously and persistently mentally illness in California.  She is a licensed clinical social worker.

Free Counseling Services

Counseling services are completely free and anonymous, with no appointment needed. SOME CLINICS ARE NOW IN PERSON! All of our professional counselors volunteer their time.
